New OBU Installation Slots Open for ERP 2.0 Transition in Singapore
Published: April 20, 2025 | Ah Keng Motor News Desk
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that additional installation slots are now available for vehicle owners looking to complete their transition to the new ERP 2.0 On-Board Unit (OBU) system.
This update follows a surge in early sign-ups as more drivers opt to install their OBU before receiving the official LTA letter, citing convenience, shorter waiting times, and smoother inspection outcomes.
About the ERP 2.0 Transition The ERP 2.0 system replaces the existing in-vehicle unit (IU) and comprises three components: a processing unit, a touchscreen display, and a windscreen-mounted antenna. Installation typically takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the vehicle type and model.
Vehicle owners are reminded that while the LTA will notify motorists by mail, pre-booking is allowed and encouraged at authorised installers across Singapore.
